ARSENAL TRANSFER NEWS: Arsenal in pole position to sign €30m-rated Italy international

Arsenal and Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli. Italy international has around 18 months left on his deal with Sassuolo. And the Bianconeri are prepared to offer him an extension beyond 2026 upon signing him permanently.

It will be interesting to see if the Old Lady are able to convince Locatelli to commit his long-term future to the club. Manuel joined the Bianconeri with massive expectations but the move has not gone according to plan. The 25-year-old midfielder has not been able to hit top form, and Juventus have been struggling in recent campaigns as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Italian midfielder is willing to try out a new challenge. The chance to move to the PL could be an attractive option for him. And Newcastle are certainly an ambitious club.

The Italian was regarded as one of the best box-to-box midfielders across Europe when he moved to Juventus following a successful UEFA Euro 2020 campaign with Italy. Locatelli has all the attributes to develop into a top-class footballer and it will be interesting to see if Eddie Howe can help him fulfil his potential.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with the player as well, and the Gunners considered signing him in winter. It will be interesting to see if the Gunners can fend off the competition from Newcastle and secure his services. Arsenal need to add more depth to their midfield as well, and Manuel would be a superb acquisition for the Spanish coach.
