Arsenal news: Man United in advanced negotiations for Gunners target amid Villa's Tierney swoop

Manchester United have Frimpong advantage

Manchester United are in advanced negotiations to sign Bayer Leverkusen wingback Jeremie Frimpong this summer, according to German outlet Sport Bild.

Frimpong has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months as well following a hugely impressive 2022/23 campaign that has seen him score eight goals and provide a further six assists in the Bundesliga.

But the aforementioned report has now claimed that United have progressed ‘relatively far’ in their negotiations to sign the Dutch international during the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa are weighing up making moves for Juventus frontman Dusan Vlahovic, Barcelona winger Ferran Torres and Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, according to the Telegraph.

The north Londoners tried to sign Vlahovic during the 2022 January transfer window but the clinical striker preferred to stay in Serie A instead, choosing a £67 million move to Turin over the English capital.

Now, it is claimed that former Gunners boss Unai Emery wants to try and prise the Serbian international away from the Allianz Stadium.

Emery is also said to be keen on signing Arsenal full-back Tierney, who has struggled for game time this term.
