Granit Xhaka replacement, Thomas Partey future - Arsenal summer transfer plans examined

Arsenal rounded off their Premier League season with an emphatic 5-0 win over Wolves on Sunday. It was an emotional day all round at the Emirates Stadium as Granit Xhaka bade farewell to the Gunners fans despite Mikel Arteta’s protestations to the contrary.

There was also time for Bukayo Saka to celebrate his contract with a goal, while Gabriel Jesus hit double figures for the campaign. Jakub Kiwior meanwhile ended the scoring with his first goal since signing from Spezia in January.

Although the campaign may have ended in disappointment it’s certainly had its positives and now feels like the time for reflection. That’s why in the latest episode of our View From the Clock End podcast, football.london’s Arsenal writers Kaya Kaynak and Tom Canton look back on the season just gone.

The boys discuss their most improved and most regressed players, best moment best player and biggest what if moment of the season. There’s also time to look ahead as they discuss what’s in store for the summer with players like Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe’s futures up in the air. There’s also some discussion of how many players Mikel Arteta will need to bring in to make sure Arsenal are challenging at the top of the Premier League once again.
