ALMOST DONE: Edu eyes £15m move for 'Turkish Lionel Messi' as Declan Rice true cost revealed

Arsenal learn true cost of Declan Rice transfer as Chelsea given £100m Moises Caicedo boost

Arsenal are pursuing a £100million deal to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice this summer. Mikel Arteta wants to sign the England international and one other midfielder ahead of next season.

The Gunners hold an interest in Brighton star Moises Caicedo after having two bids for the Ecuadorian rejected by Roberto De Zerbi’s side during the January transfer window. Chelsea are set to push for Caicedo’s signing this summer, football.london understands – with Mauricio Pochettino hoping to add a new midfielder, goalkeeper and striker to his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has tipped Bayern Munich to join Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to land Caicedo this summer. “Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo will have a domino effect,” he told wettfreunde.net.

“If Rice goes to Arsenal, Caicedo goes to Chelsea or Bayern. These three clubs [Bayern, Arsenal and Chelsea] apply for Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo – he will definitely leave Brighton.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign two new midfielders in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are currently pursuing a £100million deal to bring West Ham captain Declan Rice to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have renewed interest in Moises Caicedo, who is likely to cost £80million, according to The Times. Two Italian clubs have shown interest in Thomas Partey, who has two years left on his contract, and Arsenal could be keen to offload him as they look to complete a deal for Caicedo – following their pursuit of Rice.

A report from Times’ reporter Gary Jacob detailed that there has been disappointment at the Emirates Stadium that Partey dominated matches for two-thirds of the past season, then regressed to his performance levels of the previous two campaigns. Chelsea are set to push for Caicedo’s signing this summer, football.london understands – with Mauricio Pochettino hoping to add a new midfielder, goalkeeper and striker to his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal will spend a large portion of their transfer budget on a deal to sign Rice this summer, but they may be able to raise more funds by offloading the likes of Partey, Kieran Tierney and Granit Xhaka. The Ghanaian midfielder is valued at €30million (£25.6million), according to CIES Football Observatory – but the Gunners could demand a higher fee given his contract isn’t set to expire until 2025.

Arsenal can secure bargain £15m transfer ahead of Newcastle for ‘Turkish Lionel Messi’

Arsenal are said to be leading the race to sign Fenerbache wonderkid Arda Guler. The 18-year-old talent has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Lionel Messi’ after enjoying a breakthrough season – scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 35 appearances last term.

Guler signed a two-and-a-half-year-long professional contract with Fenerbahce, on January 13, 2021. At the start of 2022–23 season, Guler was given the number 10 shirt, which has a special meaning for Fenerbahce fans, being the number of club legend Alex de Souza.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 18-year-old has a €17.5million (£15million) release clause included in his current contract. This could allow Arsenal to secure a bargain transfer for the highly-rated youngster as Arteta looks to reinforce his squad.

Ajax and Newcastle are among the clubs to be linked with Guler, but it seems the Gunners are now leading the race for his signature. According to Turkish-Football and The Guardian writer Emre Sarigul, Arsenal contacted Guler’s family, who represent the player, over a potential summer move.
