Arsenal Launch €90m Move For This Real Madrid Midfielder: What Will He Add To Arteta’s Side?

In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Arsenal have launched a €90m move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer. It has been claimed that the Gunners are hoping to land the French talent in this ongoing transfer window.

Tchouameni’s Impressive Numbers At The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium
Tchouameni enjoyed a solid season at the Madrid club after he put a string of dominant displays at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield. The French midfield ace featured in 50 matches for Los Blancos in the previous campaign, picking up four assists in the process across all competitions.

The 23-year-old was a decent performer at the centre of the park based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 1.5 key passes, 1.5 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He was even accurate when distributing possession from midfield as he completed 93.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top-flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Real Madrid will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to lure him away to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new campaign.

What Will Tchouameni Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Side?

Tchouameni is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his side at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and can even strike the ball with power from long range.

Furthermore, the France international can create the odd chance for his teammates and is proficient at making a few energetic runs with the ball from midfield.

Tchouameni has got the skill set to enhance the quality of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta‘s first XI. He might even help the Gunners challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title once again next season.

Hence, it makes sense for the North London club to get him on board this summer as he will add plenty of energy and dynamism to Arteta’s midfield before the start of the new campaign. However, it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman can make a smooth transition to life in North London.
